WHAT:
Join Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass as she hosts a press conference with United to House Los Angeles and SEIU Local 2015, the nation’s largest long-term care union and California’s largest labor union representing nearly 450,000 nursing home workers and home care providers – nearly 50,000 of these members live in Los Angeles.
During the town hall before this press conference, housing experts are convening with Mayor Bass to discuss possible solutions to the housing crisis such as Direct Cash Assistance for Seniors, well-paying high quality jobs, and tenant protection and outreach.
WHY:
United to House Los Angeles and SEIU Local 2015 are hosting Mayor Karen Bass to discuss how to keep Los Angeles affordable for hard-working Angelenos.
SEIU 2015 fights every day to improve the rights and working conditions of our members – the majority of whom are women of color – and this includes advocating for their right to safe, affordable housing. Additionally, many of the folks that SEIU 2015 members care for are themselves low-income and vulnerable to losing their homes as well.
