Graciela Pennington is a warm and compassionate person, the kind of person you’d want to be by your bedside in your last hours. But in the nursing home where she works as a Certified Nursing Assistant, there are so few staff assigned to so many patients, Graciela knows at least one patient passed away while calling out for her. Without anyone to cover her duties with other patients for even a few minutes, she was unable to hold the hand of her elderly patient as she took her last breaths.
